MANILA, Philippines — More officials of the embattled Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board (PCAB) are expected to resign following the resignation of its executive director Herbert Matienzo and two other board members.
This is according to Trade Secretary Cristina Roque, who said on Thursday they would disclose the officer-in-charge of PCAB along with two others who would join the board on the heels of a flood control scandal.

In an interview, the trade chief said Matienzo had tendered his resignation on Sept. 3 due to “personal reasons.”
“We’re still expecting more resignations in the next few days, effective immediately also,” she told reporters.
The Department of Trade and Industry has vowed to disclose the full list of companies that could lose their license as it conducts a comprehensive investigation into anomalies related to contractor accreditation.
So far, the PCAB has revoked the license of nine construction firms owned or controlled by businesswoman Sarah Discaya, saying this raised the presence of collusion, employing schemes which stifle or suppress the outcome of the procurement activity. /dda
